The 2016 Design-Build Project/Team Awards showcase design-build best practices and celebrate the achievements of owners and design-build teams.

Lisa Washington, CAE, executive director/CEO of DBIA, commented:

By showcasing design-build best practices, teaming techniques, contracting methods, and ways to drive innovation, winners of National Design-Build Project/Team Awards provide examples to the rest of the industry on how to achieve Design-Build Done Right.

Whether it’s an educational institution that used innovative design to help students learn, a healthcare facility that incorporates the most modern technology and allows for future flexibility, or an innovative interchange that improves traffic flow and safety, Design-Build Done Right opens the door to exceptional outcomes that go beyond budget and schedule goals, and that’s why we’re proud to celebrate these projects.

The 2016 Design-Build Project/Team Awards showcase design-build best practices and celebrate the achievements of owners and design-build teams nationwide in ten categories across the spectrum of horizontal and vertical construction.

The categories are: Aviation; Civic / Assembly; Commercial Buildings / Office Buildings; Educational Facilities; Healthcare Facilities; Industrial; Process and/or Research Facilities; Rehabilitation, Renovation and/or Restoration; Transportation (other than Aviation); and Water / Wastewater.

The names of the 2016 winners, along with photos, project information, team members and a challenge design-build project delivery addressed, are available on the DBIA Web site.

The projects/teams are all winners of the National Awards of Merit. One project in each of the ten categories could win a National Award of Excellence for that category in an awards ceremony during DBIA’s Design-Build Conference and Expo on November 3 in Las Vegas. In addition, four National Awards of Excellence will be given for Process, Teaming, Architecture and Engineering, and one project will be honored as Design-Build Project of the Year.
