Brady adds QR code labels to BMP61 and BBP31 label printers

by Brianna Crandall — November 28, 2016 — Brady, a global provider of industrial and safety printing systems and solutions, has just announced the inclusion of QR code labels on its BMP61 and BBP31 label printers. These QR codes can be scanned with a QR code app on mobile devices to quickly take users to a printer-specific Web page on BradyID.com.

“Incorporating QR codes directly onto the printers puts printer information right where users need it,” says Lori Aeschbacher, global product manager for benchtop printers at Brady. “With a quick scan, users have access to printer manuals and registration, label information and how-to videos — all right at their fingertips.”

With a quick scan of the QR code label (shown at right on BBP31 label printer), users have access to printer manuals and registration, label information and how-to videos.

Brady started putting QR code labels on printers in production in November, while printers in the field will receive labels from the area territory manager or when the printer comes in for service. These labels will only be applied to the North American versions of the label printers, and will be expanded to other Brady printers in the future.

The BMP61 label printer is the direct replacement to Brady’s flagship labeler, the TLS2200 Thermal Transfer Label Printer. With improved print technology across the board, the BMP61 Label Printer provides wire, cable and component identification and more.

The BBP31 sign and label printer makes labels, tags and pipe markers quickly. Brady says this labelmaker is an easy-to-use and extremely powerful printer, ideal for any industrial or lean applications. Key features include a “walk-up-and-print” touchscreen interface and easy-to-load material cartridges without calibration. It prints from 0.5″ to 4″ wide labels, with a wide range of durable color tapes and ribbons available, and works as a stand-alone printer or connects to a PC for medium-volume printing.
