Surveys reports FM salaries fall behind fellow professionals

July 30, 2001—I-FM recently conducted the first i-FM Summit Salary Survey to determine where UK facilities managers’ salaries stand against the salaries of other professionals. The results, based on twenty-one questions, showed that FMs lag behind the salaries of other equivalent white-collar professionals. The average respondent earned slightly more than 38k. The top three positions were operations director (63,125), facilities director (58,181), and project manager (45,226). The overall salary range extended between 11,500 to 135,000. More than three quarters of respondents were men, who according to i-FM were over-represented in most job categories.
