See if you may need biometric readers in addition to your access control software

by Brianna Crandall — March 31, 2017 — ZKAccess, a provider of biometric and radio-frequency identification (RFID) security solutions, recently announced that its ZKBioPack software now allows for the integration of ZKAccess biometric readers with RS2 Technologies’ Access It! access control software, adding an extra layer of protection.

RS2 Technologies is an independently owned access management company, which allows them to stay close to their customers and be more responsive to their customers’ security needs, according to ZKAccess. The company’s engineering, service and administrative staff reportedly boast a long history of experience in the security industry, highlighted by a knowledge base that includes backgrounds ranging from software design to purchasing to security system integration.

Now RS2 Technologies customers can launch the ZKBioPack software application from within their Access It! software interface when ZKAccess IP-based biometric readers are added. Supported ZKAccess biometric models include the F18 indoor fingerprint reader, TF1700 and TF1600 outdoor fingerprint readers, and the MB700 multibiometric fingerprint and face reader.

ZKBioPack software package

ZKBioPack software now allows for the integration of ZKAccess biometric readers with RS2 Technologies’ Access It! access control software, adding an extra layer of protection.

ZKAccess biometric readers have the same power, wiring and communication requirements as do any other third-party readers, making ZKAccess hardware easy to install, points out the company. With the introduction of ZKBioPack, enrolling users’ fingerprints is now said to be equally simple.

After launching ZKBioPack from within Access It!, admins simply enroll their employees’ biometric credentials (fingerprints and/or faces) by using a ZKAccess USB fingerprint enrollment device attached to the computer running Access It!. After biometric enrollment is complete, ZKBioPack subsequently synchronizes the biometric templates with all the ZKAccess biometric readers on the network. Fingerprint template synchronization is performed in the background, making the ZKBioPack security system entirely transparent to Access It! users.

Larry Reed, CEO, ZKAccess, noted:
