These heavy-duty, releasable cable ties offer an easier way to bundle, secure and support cables

by Brianna Crandall — November 10, 2017 — Southwire Tools and Equipment has just introduced an addition to its cable management product line — Heavy Duty Releasable Cable Ties.

Heavy Duty Releasable Cable Ties feature a release tab that allows for the addition of new cables to the bundle. The ties are UL 62275 AH-2 Plenum Rated, making them ideal in air handling areas. The releasable cable ties are also ultraviolet (UV) resistant for outdoor use and come with patented mounting holes, virtually eliminating the need for adhesive mounting pads, says the company.

Southwire’s line of heavy-duty, releasable cable ties offers a faster, more versatile and less expensive way to bundle, secure and support cables. These products are ideal for low voltage as well as general electrical applications. The Heavy Duty Releasable Cable Ties are great for cable dressing and are ideal for the professional journeyman.

“Our new releasable cable ties might be the last cable tie you’ll ever need,” said Jack Larsh, Southwire’s product manager for hole-making, fishing and bending products.

Southwire’s Heavy Duty Releasable Cable Ties are wider than traditional cable ties, reducing the risk of cable jacket damage and deformation, points out the company. They are made of weather- and UV-resistant nylon 6,6, are available in 8″, 11″ and 14″ lengths, with a 50-pound loop tensile strength. They are the next step for Southwire’s line of cable ties, which began with the Universal Cable Tie, a black plenum rated, UV-resistant mountable cable tie available in 50 lb. and 90 lb. tensile strengths.
