Green Sky Thinking is a week-long, London-wide events program to highlight best practice and thinking in sustainable design and building, and to generate collaboration among the over 2,100 built environment and property professionals, from decision-makers to end-users. Since 2011, the week programs 50+ events that showcase sustainable design solutions for London’s current built environment challenges, with the theme “Building the Open City.” Unlike conferences or tradeshows, the events are informal and on-site project talks, thereby providing “real” exemplars for the industry to learn from. Each event is expert-led, hosted by organizations foremost in the delivery of sustainable design.

Initiated in 2008 by Global FM, World FM Day (May 17) aims to recognize the vital work that FM professionals contribute to business worldwide, and to raise the profile of the FM profession anywhere FMs influence the health, safety, productivity and well-being of people who utilize the built environment. The 2017 theme, “Enabling Positive Experiences,” is about highlighting how FM enables exceptional spaces that enhance life. Global FM member organizations on six continents will celebrate World FM Day by holding public events on May 17 and throughout the week, such as luncheons, seminars and workshops, social media activity and more. For example, IFMA is expressing its appreciation to FMs by featuring a free content resource for each day of World FM ​Week. Winners of the Global FM Awards for Excellence in Facilities Management will be announced. Global FM offers promotional materials for the event on its site.

A fusion of Canada-specific FM education, leadership training and best practices, the Facility Fusion Conference and Expo allows attendees to focus on issues unique to their specific facility type and/or region. The event is designed to meet specific professional development needs for every FM (CEUs/CFM maintenance points available), from day-to-day operations and soft management skills to advanced sustainability and workplace strategies. The smaller, more intimate setting at Facility Fusion (as opposed to IFMA’s World Workplace) lends itself to effective networking and in-depth professional connections.
