The four new PTZ cameras all offer enhanced features:

  • The new V672-PTZ hybrid HD analog PTZ dome camera is the latest addition to Vicon’s growing line of HD-over-Coax surveillance solutions that feature high-resolution images using existing analog coaxial infrastructure.
  • The new SN240D PTZ speed dome is an economical but powerful PTZ camera that is well-suited for outdoor and indoor areas that require long-range capabilities.
  • The new SN683D-WIR rugged PTZ network dome is designed for more challenging applications, monitoring large areas where demanding light conditions exist; the powerful 36x optical zoom captures highly detailed video from a distance.
  • The new SN693V Cruiser is a compact yet powerful PTZ that provides 23x optical zoom.

Bret McGowan, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at Vicon, remarked:

We designed this series of PTZ cameras to provide our customers with versatile surveillance solution options. These cameras offer the ability to see greater detail with fewer cameras, which is more efficient and reduces the cost so customers can quickly realize real ROI.

Vandal-resistant HD network bullet camera

Vicon also introduced a new high-definition (HD) varifocal network bullet camera. The company aims to broaden its customers’ choices for versatile and affordable internet protocol (IP) surveillance by introducing the new V922B-W551MIR-A1 model into its successful HD network camera series.

The V922B-W551MIR-A1 HD vandal bullet camera is designed for security installations that need a compact vandal-resistant camera designed to deliver outstanding imaging at 1080P. This bullet camera is a high-resolution IP camera ideal for outdoor applications where image detail and/or wide coverage is important. This bullet camera has a span of focal lengths, from wide angle to telephoto, providing focal length flexibility in a single lens.

Varifocal length lenses allow the installer to obtain the exact field of view quickly and easily, eliminating lens substitutions or the need to continuously adjust the camera setup. The 5.1-51mm 10X motorized focus and zoom lens offers the benefits of a choice of focal lengths to adjust and fine-tune the lens for any situation.

In order to adapt to low-light lighting conditions, the V922B-W551MIR-A1 has integrated infrared (IR) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) designed to illuminate the scene up to 82 ft. (25 m).

According to Vicon, installation is made easy and cost effective with Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af), which eliminates the need for power cables. This compact camera has an integral mount that allows it to be mounted on a wall, where the position is adjustable to any view required.
