Need to match paint for a wall or door? Datacolor’s portable tool can now look up Benjamin Moore paints on site

by Brianna Crandall — September 25, 2020 — Datacolor, a global provider of color management technology, recently announced that the company’s 45G Portable Spectrophotometer is now compatible with Benjamin Moore ColorX software and available to Benjamin Moore’s Dealer network.

Datacolor’s 45G portable spectrophotometer now integrates with ColorX — Benjamin Moore’s proprietary software that looks up existing formulas and also creates custom color matches. The light and mobile 45G instrument allows dealers to take color measurements outside of the retail store, i.e. to take the device to the object rather than bringing the object to the store. The company notes that this is particularly valuable when matching the color of large or heavy objects like doors and immobile objects such as walls.

By using the same family of instruments in the color lab and in the retail stores, Benjamin Moore stores can be confident that colors measured at the store will match the formulas created in the lab.

Earlier this year Benjamin Moore announced the launch of its newest color tools, the Benjamin Moore Color Portfolio app and integrated Benjamin Moore ColorReader device, designed to enhance and simplify the color selection process.
