See how these security sensors will enhance your video feed and reduce false positives

by Brianna Crandall — January 4, 2019 — Eagle Eye Networks, a global provider of cloud-based video surveillance solutions, and Swift Sensors, a supplier of cloud-based wireless sensor Internet of Things (IoT) systems, recently announced a partnership to combine the Swift Sensors wireless sensor network with the Eagle Eye Cloud Video Management System (VMS). This new integration allows existing Eagle Eye Networks customers to add wireless sensors for additional insights to their Eagle Eye Bridge or Cloud Managed Video Recorder. Swift Sensors customers can use the Eagle Eye Bridge to connect to both video cameras and their wireless sensors.

The integration is made possible by the addition of the Swift Sensors Virtual Bridge software and USB Sensor Radio to the Eagle Eye Bridge or Cloud Managed Video Recorder. The USB sensor radio allows wireless communication with all Swift Sensors wireless sensors, and the Virtual Bridge software runs on the Eagle Eye Bridge, allowing the Swift Sensors Cloud Dashboard to communicate and control the sensor system. The virtual bridge replicates the capabilities of the Swift Sensors Standard Bridge.

Sam Cece, founder and CEO of Swift Sensors, stated:

With our system’s ability to create complex notifications from multiple sensors, we can generate immediate notifications and significantly enrich the information offered by the video cameras.

The combined insights from video and analog sensor data give better context for complementary data sources, says Eagle Eye Networks. Sometimes called sensor fusion, the combination of multiple sensor types (including video sensors), gives immediate insights that can remove false positives, or narrow the possible sources of abnormal conditions read by the sensors and video cameras.

Dean Drako, CEO of Eagle Eye Networks, remarked:

Our customers and channel partners have asked us to add additional sensor monitoring to our video monitoring. Door contact, motion, and distance sensors add valuable insights and create [a] more robust video security system.

The cloud-based video monitoring systems are available from Eagle Eye Networks. The wireless sensors and cloud-based sensor monitoring are available from Swift Sensors. Subscriptions to both Eagle Eye and Swift Sensors are required to use both monitoring systems. Numerous resellers of Eagle Eye Networks and Swift Sensors offer both monitoring products.

Swift Sensors’ flagship product is the Swift Sensors Cloud Wireless Sensor System, comprised of low-power wireless sensors and cloud-based monitoring, notifications, analytics, and reporting. The sensor system proactively protects and monitors a wide range of equipment and processes. Swift Sensors applications include manufacturing, food service, facilities management, cold chain, transportation, research and development, and power.

Eagle Eye Networks’ 100% cloud-managed solutions provide cloud and on-premise recording, bank-level security and encryption, and broad analog and digital camera support — all accessed via the web or mobile applications. Businesses of all sizes and types utilize Eagle Eye solutions for operational optimization and security. All Eagle Eye products benefit from Eagle Eye’s developer-friendly RESTful API platform and Big Data Video Framework, which allow for indexing, search, retrieval, and analysis of live and archived video.

Eagle Eye Networks also recently announced enhanced video analytics within the Eagle Eye Cloud Video Management System (VMS), as well as the launch of its Identifying a True Cloud Security System whitepaper.
