Sotheby’s selects FreeAxez for access flooring

June 20, 2007—Sotheby’s, the internationally recognized auction house, has selected the FreeAxez low-profile steel access flooring system for its Institute of Art, New York City.

Six thousand square feet of FreeAxez’s FA-70 2.75″ fixed height access floor will go in the Institute’s training facility. Sotheby selected the system because the wire-management platform offered by FreeAxez met its demands to accommodate cabling for computerized training and audiovisual displays, while avoiding power poles, extension whips, and other clutter to the learning environment, says FreeAxez.

FreeAxez flooring installs at a rate of 1,000 square feet per worker per day and requires no special tooling and no glues, screws or fasteners. The all-steel construction provides superior loadbearing capability, the company asserts.

The FreeAxez 40 system can accommodate 50 CAT 5 communications cables at 40% capacity; the FreeAxez 70 system accommodates 80 CAT 5 cables at 40%. FreeAxez is UL listed, GreenSpec listed, and fully qualified as non-combustible to ASTM E-84 Class A rating.
