June 17, 2009—Teknion Corporation unveiled its new Optos Curved Wall during NeoCon in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart. The Optos feature extends the capabilities of full-height seamless-glass partitioning to a new level of flexible planning, enabling it to be easily planned and specified along a curved path. Optos won a Silver Award in The Best of NeoCon competition.
The many new architectural building forms including curved and organic form facades became the stimulus for Teknion to create the Optos Curved wall, which complements the new interior spaces.
With its frameless glass-to-glass connections, Optos provides a virtually transparent esthetic. These frameless connections are used to maximum effect in the Teknion Optos Curved Wall, making it unique for designing curved environments. Optos Curved Wall is innovative in that it accommodates two planning options. The first option involves faceted glass modules that vary in width and angle to conform to the desired radius. The second option incorporates new corners that allow the angle of the wall to change after the corner that can be used with straight Optos or the new faceted modules.
Optos provides full-height space division with extensive leveling tolerances, as well as visual and functional integration with Teknion’s Altos wall system. The new Optos Curved Wall builds upon this integration, providing unlimited combinations of seamless storefront division with functional, interactive partitioning.
