by Brianna Crandall — February 8, 2016—Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. debuted its newest, most advanced HVAC technologies and products at the 2016 AHR Expo in Orlando, Florida, from January 25-27. The event featured Bosch’s latest hydronic air handlers, geothermal heat pumps and inverter ducted split system air-to-air heat pump, among other innovations.
Bosch Thermotechnology showcased the following products at the 2016 AHR Expo:
- Bosch Hydronic Air Handlers
- Bosch Inverter Ducted Split System Air-to-Air Heat Pumps
- Bosch SM Greensource CDi Geothermal Heat Pump (Upgrade)
- Bosch Commercial FHP LV Split System Heat Pumps
- Buderus Stainless Steel Boiler Series (New Sizes)
- Bosch Controls
Designed specifically for the new construction and replacement / retrofit market, the small-footprint commercial FHP LV Split System heat pump comes in eight sizes – 1.5 through 6 tons – and allows the condensing section to be placed remotely from the air handler section. This allows the unit to be placed where there is limited space or where the condenser needs to be located away from occupied areas to minimize noise impacts.
The Buderus Stainless Steel Boiler (SSB) Series now consists of eight models in four separate chassis sizes with inputs ranging from 85MBH up to 1024MBH. With the new sizes, these sealed combustion high-efficiency stainless steel boilers with condensing technology are now applicable for use in small studio units all the way up to commercial buildings.
With built-in manifolds and controls, Buderus SSB commercial boilers can be used for cascade applications with easy installation and integration with Building Management Systems (BMS). Bosch introduced the new SSB Series mid-size range 255, 399 and 512 MBH models in fall 2015, and in mid-2016 will introduce 85, 120, 160 MBH residential models, followed by 819 and 1024 MBH commercial sizes.
The Bosch Control – Smart Room Thermostat is engineered to allow for precise temperature control from anywhere in the world via the downloadable app, wi-fi and Internet connectivity, and can be used remotely with compatible smartphones or tablets. The Bosch Control interfaces with compatible Bosch and Buderus condensing boilers and allows the user to control both heating and hot water settings for greater energy savings.
In addition, Bosch’s New Systems Control (NSC) package of intelligent modules is designed to control single or multiple zone systems for increased indoor comfort and greater energy savings. The NSC tightly controls energy use through two-way communications with a range of high-efficiency (95 percent AFUE) Bosch and Buderus condensing boiler offerings: Greenstar wall-mounted and floor-standing boilers; Buderus GB142 and GB162 boilers for larger homes; and light commercial applications.
