by Brianna Crandall — May 6, 2016 — The world-renowned Rockefeller Center, a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres in Midtown Manhattan, recently selected a line of classic outdoor umbrellas to shade the crowds visiting its lower plaza. The lower plaza at the front of “30 Rock” welcomes first-time visitors and New York City locals with its iconic public art sculptures, flowing fountain and colorful flag poles.
The designated outdoor area required shade design that could be integrated flawlessly against the already culturally recognizable surroundings. The building turned to outdoor shade provider TUUCI’s line of Ocean Master MAX Classic Umbrellas, thanks to their traditional yet minimalistic design.
Rockefeller Center remains a busy hub for foot traffic year-round, with many seeking a comfortable area within the national historic landmark to lounge in comfort and shade.
Beyond the aesthetic appeal, TUUCI products are engineered to perform, with durability as a key feature to withstand the elements throughout its lifetime. Born from the marine industry, TUUCI products are built to thrive against the harshest elements, including up to 50 mph winds and corrosion.
The reliability, quality, and ability to configure umbrellas according to the space requirement were key in building planners’ selection of TUUCI as a mainstay fixture to the iconic outdoor plaza.
