NeoCon 2016: Rubbermaid Commercial Products previews premium decorative refuse containers, showcases new recycling system

by Brianna Crandall — June 27, 2016 — Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP) , manufacturer of innovative, solution-based products for commercial and institutional markets worldwide and part of Newell Brands’ global portfolio, gave designers, architects and attendees a first look at a new collection of premium decorative refuse containers, along with the company’s recently launched recycling system, two weeks ago at the NeoCon 2016 contract furnishings show in Chicago. This was RCP’s first appearance at NeoCon.

Enhance

Enhance will be on the market in September 2016, but attendees of NeoCon had an exclusive look at the products. Developed with a group of top-end professional designers, products in the Enhance collection can be easily tailored to complement a property’s upscale decor, while still providing the unparalleled durability, productivity and efficiency interior designers and architects expect from Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP).

The products come in a variety of size and shape options and are customizable, meaning they can be adapted to fit to the style of any commercial space, notes RCP.

Kristine Sickels, senior vice president of marketing, RCP, said:

The products in our Enhance collection of decorative refuse containers have been meticulously designed to provide the perfect finish to the overall aesthetic of a room. The collection delivers on RCP’s Decorative Refuse promise to provide high-quality commercial products with an unmatched depth and breadth of choice in colors, materials, and finishes.

According to Rubbermaid, Enhance blends aesthetics and functionality. Floating lids give the appearance of lightness, designed to reduce the chance of pinching, and a flare on the receptacle rim provides visual appeal while also allowing room for users’ hands to easily grip the plastic liner during removal. The receptacles have panels that can be easily changed to refresh their look at any time.

RCP’s internal color specialists have carefully chosen the color options from interior and exterior commercial trends, and they will be updated every two years to ensure the colors of the receptacles are always up-to-date and on-trend.  The premium waste system also includes a fingerprint-resistant coating that prevents smudges and makes it easier to maintain a high-quality look over time.

Configure

Displayed along with Enhance was RCP’s new Configure recycling system, which launched in March 2016. According to FMLink Publisher Peter Kimmel, who viewed Configure at NeoCon, the system enables the FM to take standard finishes and then specify a variety of treatments for customization, all in an effort to take typical items that tend to clutter an environment (e.g., trash cans, recycling bins, shredders, etc.) and enclose them in something decorative.

Rubbermaid Configure recycling system

RCP’s Configure system enables the FM to take standard finishes and then specify a variety of treatments for customization, all in an effort to take typical items that tend to clutter an environment (e.g., trash cans, recycling bins, shredders, etc.) and enclose them in something decorative.

Entered in the Office Accessories category of the Best of NeoCon Competition [see FMLink article], RCP’s Configure recycling system can be tailored to meet the needs of any facility, allowing easy customization of the containers’ size, color, waste stream labels and more. The company says these innovations showcase RCP’s consistent effort to deliver new designs and cutting-edge products in the decorative refuse space.

Configure is customizable, with four different receptacle sizes, seven various waste stream labels, and four lid openings that suit the unique recycling needs of any facility. The system comes in over 200 different color options to complement any environment, and the magnetic connection to keep cans perfectly aligned helps maintain the professional appearance of the product.
