by Brianna Crandall — December 9, 2016 — Osram, a global lighting and technology company, recently announced that its ENCELIUM lighting control system has been listed on the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) Qualified Products List (QPL) in the category of Networked Lighting Control (NLC) Systems. With this distinction, ENCELIUM is acknowledged as a cutting-edge, high-efficiency, commercial sector lighting solution.
The award-winning ENCELIUM lighting control system is a scalable, wireless or wired lighting control system that enables facilities managers to elevate the cost effectiveness and occupant experience of their lighting spaces with just a click of the mouse.
Charles Piccirillo, group marketing manager of the Lighting Management Systems, Digital Systems unit at Osram, Americas region, stated:
The qualification from the DLC will allow users to make informed decisions on lighting control systems. It highlights both Osram’s innovation in lighting and building sustainability, and also assists with the adoption of high-performing, energy-efficient commercial lighting solutions.
The listing equips everyone from lighting designers, specifiers and contractors to building owners and utility energy efficiency programs with a valuable resource to understand and evaluate networked lighting control systems. The DLC’s performance specification and QPL for NLC Systems provides a new resource to the lighting market and energy efficiency programs to understand, evaluate, and compare Networked Lighting Control Systems. To qualify as a QPL in the NLC Systems category, eligible systems must meet required system capabilities such as occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, zoning and continuous dimming.
Levin Nock, CALC program manager at DLC, commented:
The DLC is excited to see the ENCELIUM Lighting Control System qualified on the Networked Lighting Controls QPL. The QPL is reaching a critical mass of qualified systems — as the list continues to grow, utility companies and energy efficiency programs can implement more effective incentive programs and rebates for networked lighting controls technology.
A project of Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP), and in partnership with utilities, energy efficiency programs, and the lighting industry, the DesignLights Consortium defines high performance through technical requirements, facilitates thought leadership, and provides tools, resources and technical expertise to both members and the industry, including federal, state and local entities. A nonprofit organization, the DLC is committed to accelerating the widespread adoption of high-performing commercial lighting solutions.
