ISS Israel — Ben Gurion Airport
ISS Israel’s Inflight Catering Services secured a new 24-year franchise contract to provide airline meals at Ben Gurion Airport, Israel’s main international airport. The contract includes building a new industrial kitchen in the airport. The new kitchen will be operational from January 1, 2020.
With a team of 280 employees, ISS Israel’s Inflight Catering Services division already serves around 2.5 million meals a year to 25 international airlines, including British Airways, Korean Airlines and Delta Airlines. The company has reportedly played a leading role in inflight catering for the past 19 years in Israel.
ISS Mexico — Teva Pharmaceuticals
In addition, ISS Mexico signed a contract with Teva Pharmaceuticals that builds on ISS’ existing relationship with Teva in Israel and Chile. The new contract includes sanitation and cleaning at Teva Pharmaceuticals plants, which deliver high-quality health solutions to Mexico and the world, to ensure the facilities are run efficiently and sustainably.
ISS Mexico commenced the contract in July 2016, and it is now fully operational. ISS delivers services at five locations — Xochimilco-San Bernabé, Lerma Plant, Interlomas, Guadalajara, and Santa Teresa — employing a total of 101 people.
Founded in 1901, Teva Pharmaceuticals today operates over 40 pharmaceutical manufacturing plants in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Israel, and employs 58,000 people. It is said to be the largest producer of generics in the world, with 64 billion tablets and capsules produced each year.
ISS has been in Mexico since 2006, and numbered 13,243 employees in 2015.
ISS Norway — Norwegian National Opera and Ballet
Lastly, ISS Norway won a contract with the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet (DNO&B) to provide the prestigious cultural institution with facilities management services ranging from catering to cleaning.
ISS Norway won a contract with the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet (DNO&B) to provide the prestigious cultural institution with FM services ranging from catering to cleaning.
The DNO&B is the country’s largest performing arts institution, consisting of Norway’s National Ballet, National Opera, Opera Orchestra, Opera Choir, Children’s Choir, and Ballet School. In addition to performers, the opera and ballet consist of technical departments and workshops, handling costumes, painting, carpentry, and a number of other specialized tasks.
ISS will manage catering, cleaning, postal service, and select real estate services at DNO&B’s facilities, including one of Europe’s most technically advanced theatres.
Trine Øveraas, ISS Account Manager for DNO&B, stated:
In many ways, we contribute to people’s first impression of the opera. On the inside and the outside. This is something ISS’ service professionals take very seriously, and we’re all proud of the work we do.
Last year, a total of 321,184 people attended the 543 performances DNO&B produced, either at its venues in Norway or on tour. The striking opera house, designed by architectural firm Snøhetta, appears to rise out of the waters of the Oslo Fjord, and is considered one of the key landmarks in Norway’s capital.
