by Brianna Crandall — June 16, 2017 — As announced on FMLink in our Wednesday article, “Check out the Best of NeoCon 2017 commercial interiors award winners — HALCON takes Best of Competition,” HALCON’s Halo conference room furniture collection received the Best of Competition Award at NeoCon 2017 — considered the largest exhibition of contract furnishings in North America. The Minnesota-based manufacturer of executive office casegoods, conferencing, and custom millwork solutions manufactures 100% in-house with hand-selected wood, veneers and solids.
A panel of 47 design leaders selected Halo for what is considered the industry’s most prestigious award from more than 400 new products entered into the competition. The award was announced at the Best of NeoCon Awards Breakfast hosted by Contract Magazine. Halo also received a Gold Award for Conference Room Furniture, and an additional Gold Award for Height-adjustable Tables. HALCON has now earned ten Best of NeoCon Awards in the last five years, the company noted.
Unveiled at NeoCon, Halo is designed to bring lasting beauty and innovation to commercial meeting spaces. As presented at the show, the conference table can work particularly well for facilities managers (FMs), as it is height-adjustable and comes in a variety of sizes, including very large; the table on display at NeoCon was 192” x 60”.
Unlike with many conference tables, where chair arms get scuffed and marked when they slide under the table, Halo tables are encircled by the “revolutionary” Halo edge, which provides protection for both the table and chair while delivering vital connectivity with a series of well-hidden electrical outlets for conference participants to access. Wire management pathways are cleanly concealed in a variety of base styles in a full range of finishes.
As a bonus, the table features an attractive aesthetic and comes in a variety of finishes to match any decor. HALCON makes additional conference room furniture to match the table, should the FM require it, including Halo bench seating and sideboard storage.
The Halo bench seating seamlessly integrates with the adjacent sideboard storage. Available in two seat depths, an optional back, and a range of sizes, Halo can be ideal for conference room gallery seating and informal public spaces. “Thoughtful” sideboard storage at multiple heights, widths, and depths accommodates refrigeration, cutlery, waste bins and more.
Ben Conway, president, HALCON, pointed out:
The interaction between chair arms and table edges often results in damaged furniture. Halo solves this problem with an innovative, beautifully-designed product. We are honored to be recognized by the Best of NeoCon jurors. We share this honor with Gensler, whose designers worked closely with our product development team to craft this truly extraordinary collection.
