by Brianna Crandall — November 6, 2017 — The BIFM Academy of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) has launched its first online training course, Introduction to Facilities Management, designed to help those who are just moving into or embarking on their first management role in facilities management (FM) acquire much-needed knowledge and skills.
Continuing BIFM’s commitment to advancing the facilities management profession, the Introduction to Facilities Management online course is also a perfect refresher for experienced FMs looking to reinforce existing knowledge of best practice.
The course covers key skills highlighted by employers in the FM sector, complements the new Facilities Management Supervisor apprenticeship standard (level 3) and is aligned to the BIFM Professional Standards.
Course content covers:
- The context of FM;
- Managing FM performance;
- Managing a team;
- Compliance;
- Understanding your customers; and
- How to develop and progress within an FM career.
Written by an industry expert and offering interactive learning, real-life documents, profiling, case studies and regular reflection points, the course provides a flexible learning solution designed to fit around the user’s lifestyle. Upon finishing the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion, which equates to six hours for their BIFM Continuing Professional Development record.
The course is available to individuals (both members and non-members) as well as corporate groups on request. The online course is priced at £155 (+VAT) for members and £195 (+VAT) for non-members. To register for an Introduction to Facilities Management, visit the BIFM Academy Web site.
This new addition to BIFM’s education offering is the first of a suite of online courses being released through the remainder of 2017 and the following year. To find out more about all BIFM Academy courses, including face-to-face, online and bespoke in-house solutions, visit the Web site.
