by Brianna Crandall — July 2, 2018 — In the field of outsourcing, global facility services provider ISS Group announced contracts in recent weeks to provide integrated FM services to two large hospitals in Turkey, a soccer complex home to England’s 28 national teams, and 214 public schools in one state in Australia. ISS Group provides facilities management (FM), cleaning, office support, catering, and security services to businesses in more than 53 countries around the world.
Two hospitals in Turkey
ISS Turkey entered into two five-year integrated FM services partnerships in the health-care sector with Kayseri Hospital and Elazığ Hospital. The contract with Kayseri Hospital ramps up from May to November 2018, while the contract at Elazığ Hospital will ramp up from July to November 2018.
Both contracts cover a fully integrated portfolio of facilities management services including catering, technical services, waste management, cleaning, and security. Once fully operational, approximately 3,000 ISS employees will be employed at the two hospitals.
Cavit Habib, country manager for ISS Turkey, remarked:
We are very excited about entering into these two new partnerships with Kayseri Hospital and Elazığ Hospital, and look forward to applying the skills and expertise we have built up within the healthcare industry here in Turkey. By self-delivering services with our own dedicated employees, we will be able to deliver the best service possible to all patients, visitors and staff at the hospitals.
The contracts add to an already well-established portfolio of health-care contracts in Turkey, including a major integrated services contract with Adana Hospital that was launched in Q3 2017.
National soccer complex in England
St. George’s Park in England selected ISS UK to provide an integrated FM services solution at the National Football Centre. The new contract will include technical services, event support, front of house, cleaning, window cleaning, pest control, waste management and security.
St. George’s Park, the £105-million facility in Staffordshire, is home to England’s 28 national soccer teams. Set in 330 acres, the grounds provide world-class facilities for all England teams ahead of international fixtures and major tournaments.
The complex also delivers a range of services including event and conference suites, an outdoor Leadership Centre, a four-star Hilton hotel and the Performance Centre — a cutting-edge sports medicine center.
In addition to the professional teams, St. George’s Park is also the home of FA Education, which delivers all Football Association (FA) national coach education courses as well as medical, sports science, referee and talent identification courses with the aim of creating a world-leading education program for a diverse soccer workforce.
The park is also a hub for soccer in this country. General manager Holly Murdoch said:
We’re pleased to be linking up with ISS. Given the wide range of stakeholders we work with and welcome to the site on a daily basis, we require an experienced partner to deliver high standards to cater for all. Our aim is to ensure all using the site have a productive and enjoyable experience when using our facilities.
Jane Jones, managing director, Professional Services, Key Accounts, ISS UK, commented:
We are so proud to be a part of England’s national football development. St. George’s provides world-class facilities to England’s national game, and we in turn will provide world-class facilities management services to the footballing profession and community. Through our team of experienced professionals, we’re providing one point of contact for the integrated solution, whilst adding further value by implementing any relevant innovations.
214 public schools in Australia
ISS Australia won a contract with the Victorian State Government to provide cleaning services to 214 public schools in Western and North Eastern Melbourne. Once mobilized, the contract will become one of the largest contracts in the ISS Pacific business.
ISS will provide cleaning services to 214 public schools with more than 500 cleaning professionals directly employed by ISS, ensuring consistency and compliance across all sites.
Stuart Rose, commercial director for ISS Australia, said:
We are proud to add this account to our growing Australian education portfolio, and we look forward to establishing an open, collaborative relationship with the Victorian State Government. It is our self-delivery model that makes this kind of partnership possible. By empowering and training our own people, we can ensure that ISS delivers the best service to the end users of our customers — in this case the students and teaching staff at these Victorian public schools.
ISS was reportedly selected for its track record in public education, its ethical employment practices, and its self-delivery model.
ISS Australia provides cleaning and other FM services to a growing portfolio in the education segment, including more than 12 major universities, 56 technical and further education institutions, and now over 1,100 schools.
The new contract covers two of the eight Melbourne regions that the Department of Education and Training tendered as part of its “School Cleaning Reform Project,” a new zone-based approach for school cleaning that is being introduced by the Victorian State Government in 2018. This model brings in outsourced cleaning service providers to deliver consistent and quality cleaning standards to Victorian schools.
Through a phased transition, ISS will commence services to most schools in the portfolio on July 1, 2018.
