by Brianna Crandall — June 7, 2019 — Office furniture manufacturer The HON Company continues to develop new product solutions to address the needs of the evolving workplace. Many of these new solutions will be on display next week at the NeoCon commercial interiors show in Chicago, Illinois.
This year’s collection demonstrates how to accomplish “authentic” office design, which HON says is about creating an office that tells a company’s values, mission and goals in a way that connects with employees and customers on an emotional level. An authentic design is said to reinforce a company’s mission and message, which keeps everyone heading in the right direction and focused on the same goals.
Several recently introduced and soon-to-be-launched collections will be displayed, including Fuse personal storage (highlighted below), a reimagining of Voi desks and Flock seating, and the next evolution of HON’s popular Ignition seating collection. Most products displayed are new to the market within the past 12 to 18 months.
Ric Andersen, general manager and vice-president of Sales and Service at The HON Company, explained:
At HON, we continue to focus on the customer, their needs and the evolving office. Some of the top-of-mind topics for business owners today include the changing workforce demographic, employee attraction and retention, and wellness in the workplace. While key decision makers aren’t necessarily thinking about investing in furniture to solve their problems, it can and it does. We have countless examples of how HON furniture has solved these real-world problems. We’ve helped businesses attract top talent and keep their best employees. We’ve created spaces for teams to be inspired, collaborate and solve problems. Our new product introductions and showroom show how this can be achieved.
HON has a long history of value and quality. Our members take pride in making products that will last and are accessible to businesses on a tight budget. We are pleased so many of our new introductions are made in the USA by HON members. With the impacts of the recent tariffs, HON continues to be able to offer exceptional value to our dealers and their customers.
Fuse personal storage
At NeoCon, The HON Company is introducing what it says is the next generation of personal storage for today’s office environment. The company reminds how the Digital Age was expected to do away with the need for most office storage; it seemed like great news at the time as real estate began shrinking and there seemed to be less space for just about everything.
However, the reality is that people’s need for storage has not gone away. Instead, it’s the types of things they need to store that has radically changed, says HON. The filing of papers and folders has evolved into more lifestyle storage management as working and living activities are becoming more blended. Storage in the workplace is just as important as ever. But with office design trends leaning more towards open and collaborative settings, less overall square footage, and more shared space, there are now more things to consider and store.
Fuse, The HON Company’s newest storage solution, addresses this need for a new way to store and stow things. Created in collaboration with IDA Design, a small, agile studio that creates smart and effective product solutions for commercial environments, Fuse is said to couple HON’s rich history as an expert in office storage with market research and a keen understanding of the needs of the changing office.
Fuse is said to take personal storage to the next level with sizes and options that make more sense for what is being stowed today. Pair that with an added pop of color with HON’s Colorwav, and Fuse can give new meaning and personality to personal space. The collection features larger-sized drawers to accommodate storage beyond files, accessories that help workers stay organized, the flexibility to move and adjust with height-adjustable worksurfaces, slim-sized versions for today’s office, and more.
Made in the USA, Fuse is backed by HON’s full lifetime warranty and network of dealers.
