by Brianna Crandall — June 10, 2019 — High-performance prefabricated interiors manufacturer DIRTT is unveiling two new client-driven modular components at its penthouse across from the Merchandise Mart in Chicago during its DIRTT Connext show June 10-11, 2019, adding to the company’s existing custom prefab solutions. The new offerings include a highly responsive and extraordinarily slim 2” glass wall called Inspire, and a 6” wall that the company says is a real workhorse — it houses plumbing, electrical, med gasses and any other components, while matching the designer’s intent and the dimensions of the rest of the space. Both integrate seamlessly with the rest of the client’s DIRTT-constructed space and the base building.
Inspire 2” glass wall
DIRTT’s 2” glass wall Inspire combines the elegant, slim aesthetic of European glass walls with the engineering and design to allow for customization and agility. It adheres to DIRTT’s non-generational approach. The frame details perform and respond in the same manner as DIRTT’s other components. Inspire integrates with the base building and delivers height adjustability to match the vagaries of the building’s floor, without damaging the finishes or base building.
Inspire was named in memory of the influence a dearly departed employee brought to DIRTT’s Product Development team.
DIRTT’s 6” wall
DIRTT’s new 6” wall can do so much that it won’t be contained within a name, says the company. Support your equipment, fixtures and furniture. Match your culture. The 6” wall is particularly great for today’s organizations that demand more from their investment in real estate, such as in healthcare situations. The wider cavity means everything needed can be put into the wall, with no worry about getting inside to maintain or replace the components within. With room for pipes, power, data, med gasses and other components, the 6” wall is always ready to respond, which is particularly useful when pipes need some tending, points out DIRTT.
And though it’s beefier and brawnier, the 6” wall is quick to install and integrates beautifully with all other new and legacy DIRTT components and the base building. The hyper-customization of all DIRTT components means the 6” wall doesn’t look like a workhorse — it looks like your own personal thoroughbred, says the company.
Invited guests to the DIRTT Connext show will also experience the latest in DIRTT’s real-time, interactive virtual reality (VR) experience, called ICEreality. As visitors walk around inside a design untethered, they can make changes to personalize the space. They can also explore as a team, even with stakeholders in distant locations who can’t be there in person. Those wishing to visit DIRTT June 10 and 11 for DIRTT Connext must reach out to their local DIRTT rep in advance to secure their invitation.
