by Brianna Crandall — October 18, 2019 — ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, a global provider of access solutions, recently announced the integration of the company’s Aperio wireless lock technology with the Pinnacle Advanced access control software and 1700 Intelligent Controller from Sielox, a designer of innovative layered security solutions since 1979, thereby giving facilities managers (FMs) more options to secure their buildings.
Aperio will integrate with Version 10.4 of Pinnacle Access Control Platform. A feature-rich event management software solution, Pinnacle provides high-level access control management and control capabilities to best address today’s demands, with scalability for tomorrow.
The integration includes Sielox’s 1700 Intelligent Controller, an intelligent, fully distributed 32-bit access control panel for up to 34 doors that provides facility protection even if communications have been interrupted. This field-proven, cost-effective, expandable and serviceable unit connects directly to a network, saving costs.
Additionally, Aperio wireless locks can be controlled by CLASS (Crisis Lockdown Alert Status System), Sielox’s award-winning emergency notification and response solution designed to dramatically improve situational awareness, saving time and potentially saving lives. A browser-based application, CLASS is accessible anywhere and anytime and can instantly send Alert Level status changes and lock down facilities from any device.
Karen Evans, president and CEO of Sielox, remarked:
Aperio is a superior wireless lock that not only provides a high level of security but helps dramatically reduce installation costs. By integrating the Aperio lock with our Pinnacle and CLASS software and controller, we are giving customers the ability to implement wireless access in conjunction with existing hardwired access to provide a layered security solution.
The Aperio integration offers Sielox customers an easy way to connect additional openings to their Pinnacle systems. Aperio is a global wireless platform that works with extensive locking hardware options from ASSA ABLOY Group brands, offering the flexibility to address a variety of applications throughout any facility. The platform uses wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4) between the lock and an Aperio hub to provide real-time communication to the access control system, simplifying installation and reducing costs.
Peter Boriskin, chief technology officer, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas, stated:
The Aperio integration with Pinnacle and CLASS gives Sielox customers a broad range of options for securing their facilities. It offers a very scalable and affordable solution with robust capabilities.
