If you need a water cooler to switch from bottled to piped water for hot/cold delivery (or vice versa), check out this new convertible one

by Brianna Crandall — February 3, 2020 — For cars, a convertible means freedom (and also controlling the temperature — top down to cool off, top up to warm up). The new Oasis Aquarius Convertible Water Cooler does something similar for water coolers. You can’t put its top down, but its versatility is deployed in providing water either with a 5-gallon bottle or by connecting directly to a water line.

The water cooler also delivers hot, cold and room-temperature water on demand through either source, enabling temperature control as well as versatility.

Deciding whether to use bottled or plumbed water is an ongoing quandary when choosing how to provide drinking water in public spaces, says Oasis, so this unit settles the question by enabling either option. Plus, it has the added benefit of bottom loading for those who choose bottled water, eliminating the need to hoist heavy bottles.

Aquarius Convertible offers thoughtfully planned internals:

  • The convection-cooled condenser and spring-mounted, hermetically sealed compressor require no lubrication.
  • Refrigerant is controlled by a capillary tube, and temperature is controlled by a preset thermostat for maximum performance.
  • The cold-water reservoir is Type 300 series stainless steel with an external refrigerant coil and expanded bead polystyrene insulation.
  • Its one-piece hot water tank has a 420-watt heating element for fast, efficient heating, delivering 1.5 gallons of piping hot water per hour with a 1-quart storage tank.

Other benefits include:

  • An extra-high 11-inch dispense height to accommodate large sports bottles;
  • A polymer cabinet that won’t rust or scratch the floor; and
  • Safety and environmental features like certification to NSF/ANSI 372 for low lead content and Energy Star certification.
