AeraMax Professional white paper examines air quality issues

by Brianna Crandall — April 11, 2016—AeraMax Professional recently released a special report revealing the detrimental economic and public health toll that asthma and allergies take on businesses and schools throughout the country.

The report, released at the recent NFMT facilities management conference in Baltimore, examines the widespread hazard of poor indoor air quality (IAQ) and how FMs can create healthier and safer environments for occupants with chronic respiratory conditions by cleaning the air.

Jeff Dryfhout, global marketing director, Fellowes Brands, Air Treatment, points out:

Every day, millions of Americans are less productive because of asthma and allergy problems at a business or a school. It’s time to say enough is enough. Cleaning the air dramatically reduces contaminants that trigger allergies and asthma. Most Americans spend seven to nine hours a day in shared spaces, and facility managers can help ensure they feel healthy and safe in these areas.

It is estimated that symptoms from asthma and allergies account for 40,000 missed days of school and work every day, according to the company. Absenteeism and lost productivity from asthma alone cause an economic burden of $5.1 billion per year.

AeraMax Professional is said to be the first commercial-grade air purifier certified asthma and allergy friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. It removes up to 99.9 percent of airborne contaminants, including common triggers such as dust mites, mold spores, and pollen.
