Urbanscape is “first” to publish system EPD for Extensive Green Roof System

by Brianna Crandall — July 27, 2016 — Urbanscape announced in recent weeks that it is the first in the green roof industry to publish a system EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) for its Extensive Green Roof System.

For architects and specifiers looking to earn points in building rating systems such as BREEAM, LEED, DGNB or HQE, this EPD can now provide points for categories such as “product disclosure” or “building life cycle.”

For architects and specifiers looking to earn points in building rating systems such as BREEAM, LEED, DGNB or HQE, this EPD can now provide points for categories such as “product disclosure” or “building life cycle.”

This system EPD is helping disclose more product sustainability information about the Urbanscape Green Roof System’s life cycle, such as:

  • One square meter of Urbanscape Extensive Green Roof System can sequestrate up to 15 kg CO2/m² over the life of the product.
  • 100% of the drainage system materials are made from recycled materials, which lowers the overall impact on the environment.
  • 100% of the product components can be composted and recycled at the end of their life.

The Urbanscape Extensive Green Roof System is designed to be sustainable for the whole building life cycle.

The system EPD is available to be downloaded from the Urbanscape Web site.
