The Bugo Tape helps prevent bed bug infestations

by Brianna Crandall — November 14, 2016 — The Bugo — a safe, cost-efficient, easy-to-use, effective way to protect people and furniture from bed bug infestations — has developed a new product called The Bugo Tape, launching this week at PLMA’s 2016 Private Label Trade Show in Chicago. The product may interest facilities or property managers in charge of hotels or motels, multi-unit housing, college dorms, nursing homes, offices and more, or may serve for personal use at home or away.

The Bugo (original disc)

The Bugo, launched in early 2015, is a safe and simple-to-use adhesive disc-shaped device that lasts up to eight weeks, is virtually invisible, and acts as a barrier against bed bugs and as a detector for bed bug infestations.

The Bugo (original disc) is a safe and simple-to-use adhesive disc-shaped device that sticks on the floor around the bottom of furniture legs; it lasts up to eight weeks, is virtually invisible, and acts as a barrier against bed bugs and as a detector for bed bug infestations.

The Bugo Disc sticks on the floor around the bottom of the bed legs or other furniture legs to prevent these unwanted crawling insects from getting into the bed, lounge furniture, clothes, etc.

Bed bugs

According to The Bugo, bed bugs live in houses and apartments, hotels, movie theaters, recreational vehicles (RVs), nursing homes, student accommodations and offices. They are great hitchhikers and are well known to travel in suitcases or clothes. Recent studies have shown a global increase in bed bugs and have attributed it to the rise in international travel and an increased resistance to pesticides.

Bed bug bites can turn into itchy red bumps and rashes that last for days; some people may have allergic reactions or develop secondary skin infections from scratching the bites. They may also cause psychological manifestations such as insomnia or sleeplessness, anxiety or increased nervousness.

The Bugo Tape (new)

For beds or other furniture with no legs, the company has now developed The Bugo Tape. Each packet of the new tape will be available in rolls of 10 m / 32.8 ft., which is enough for one application around a king-size bed.  Like the original Bugo Discs, it will act as a barrier against bed bugs and as a detector to bed bug infestations.

The Bugo Tape is virtually invisible, lasts up to eight weeks, and uses no pesticides or harmful chemicals, so is safe to use in homes with pets and young children. It is simple to apply, remove and discard, and it does not have any unpleasant smells or substances. It is available in soft-floor application for surfaces such as carpets and rugs, or hard-floor application for surfaces such as floor boards and tiles.

The Bugo is available to buy worldwide through the company’s distributors. The company’s Web site offers a video of “The Bugo — How It Works,” as well as tips for Do’s and Don’ts both at home and away.
