by Rebecca Walker — May 9, 2011—3M has introduced the Filtrete Wi-Fi Touch Screen Programmable Thermostat, which provides easy control of heating or cooling systems from any computer, tablet or smartphone anywhere in the world.
The thermostat comes with built-in Wi-Fi technology that easily installs and connects to the HVAC system. At the touch of a button, the user can turn the heating and cooling system on and off remotely, as well as adjust the temperature through a PC or Mac computer, or a free application for the iPad tablet, iPhone or Andriod.
Compatible with most modern HVAC systems and adaptable for older systems, the Wi-Fi thermostat comes pre-programmed with a setting for optimum energy efficiency, notes the company.
The Filtrete Wi-Fi thermostat enables users to track their energy consumption, and includes a filter change indicator.
Complete with a five-year warranty, the Filtrete Wi-Fi touch screen programmable thermostat is available at The Home Depot, and has a suggested retail price of $99.88. For more information on the Wi-Fi thermostat, see the Web site.
