by Shane Henson — July 4, 2011—A2aMEDIA, a next-generation media company that designs, installs, operates and sells advertising for energy-efficient LED media displays, recently unveiled the first Mediamesh display in New York City. Mediamesh is an environmentally responsible display that is made of transparent, stainless steel mesh with embedded LEDs. The display is located on the landmark Port Authority Bus Terminal in Times Square, covering 6,000 square feet of the terminal’s surface. A2aMEDIA was tapped by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to create the display.

A2aMEDIA is particularly proud that the Mediamesh technology used on the Port Authority Bus Terminal requires 80 percent less energy than traditional LED technologies. It also allows vehicle emissions to escape harmlessly from the terminal through its façade, ensuring the safety of bus travelers and employees inside the terminal. Along with conserving energy, the display is also appealing to the eye. Its thin, stainless steel mesh profile preserves and enhances a building’s architectural look and feel, while images appear to float across a building façade.

A2aMEDIA says Mediamesh sets a new standard for LED displays, and expects the display to provide exciting advertising opportunities for a variety of regional and national businesses. Initial major advertisers include Fidelity Investments, Fox Television Networks, Macquarie Equipment Finance, and Paramount Studios.
