by Shane Henson — September 13, 2013—Acclaim Lighting, a developer and supplier of innovative and advanced lighting technology to projects around the world, recently released two high-powered linear graze and parabolic-aluminized-reflector (PAR) wash fixtures that deliver a spectrum of blended colors for illuminating buildings, façades, and landscapes.
The ALQ Bar features 10-watt Cree quad-color (RGB+W, or red-green-blue and white) light-emitting diodes (LEDs), and its high-output optics provides 30 percent more output than typical quad lenses, thus offering superior homogenized color mixing, says Acclaim Lighting. In addition, the grey-finished ALQ Bar is built to last with a sturdy, die-cast aluminum housing and Internet protocol (IP) 65 wet-location rating.
Available in 500- and 1,000-mm lengths, the ALQ Bar offers the flexibility to be joined for longer runs. The ALQ Bar’s beam angle—10 or 40 degrees—can be modified via light-shaping filters to vary a user’s lighting presentation. The 1,000-mm ALQ Bar provides 1,372 total lumens, while the 500-mm model provides 526 lumens.
The ALQ PAR is a rugged, compact, IP 65-rated quad color (RGB+W) PAR wash light. It features high luminous efficiency and bright, narrow 10-degree optics, outputting 1,325 total lumens at a total power consumption of 84 watts. Ideal for highlighting columns, buildings, and areas as far as 100 feet away, it may be especially suitable for college or corporate campuses.
Common features of the ALQ Bar and PAR include an integrated power supply that can be linked together easily via the supplied power and data cables, to run via DMX or standalone programs. With the integrated multi-voltage power supply, maximum fixture runs for the ALQ Bar are 40 feet with 120-volt AC power supply and 80 feet with 240-volt AC power, or 8 and 16 units, respectively, for the ALQ PAR.
