ACEEE recognizes exemplary energy efficiency programs nationwide

by Brianna Crandall — April 3, 2013—The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) recently completed its Third National Review of Exemplary Energy Efficiency Programs. ACEEE and an expert review panel selected programs that they determined were commendable examples of leading designs and practices for energy efficiency programs offered by utilities and related organizations serving utility customers. A compendium of profiles of all these programs will be published later this spring featuring program descriptions, performance, and key lessons learned.

As in its earlier national reviews in 2003 and 2008, ACEEE selected and recognized programs judged to be models for emulation by other utilities and organizations. The selected programs demonstrate success in helping customers increase the energy efficiency of their homes, offices, businesses, and industries. By doing so, these programs reduce energy costs, improve the environment, and boost economic development. The selected programs, selected from among numerous nominations in a national solicitation, represent the diversity of the types of programs available as well as the diversity of organizations that administer and provide them, says the ACEEE.
