Aconex chosen by Graham Construction for hospitals expansion

by AF 0228 c5 — March 2, 2009—Technology firm Aconex has been selected by Graham Construction to provide its online collaboration system to the company’s $432 million expansion of the Kelowna and Vernon Hospitals in British Columbia, Canada.

Aconex will be used to manage information and link organizations on the projects, which are the province’s largest public-private partnership (PPP) developments.

Aconex provides a Web-based system for managing project information such as drawings, documents and correspondence. Through using the system, Graham Construction and its project partners will be able to view, distribute and track their files in real-time, replacing the need for paper documents.

Eric Willden, Director of Major Projects, Graham Construction, said: “Being a PPP project, we have strict guidelines and protocols around the management of information. Aconex will not only ensure that parties can quickly access the information they need, it will also give us the visibility and accountability required. A major benefit for us is that there will be an electronic archive of every document and mail stored on the system and nothing can be deleted.”

Graham Construction is an employee-owned company that provides general contracting, project management, design-build, and construction services across Canada and the Northwestern United States.
