May 7, 2008—The enclosed-cab Exterra rider sweeper from Advance features an integrated dust-suppression system that minimizes dust at the side brooms to create an extra-wide, 77-inch, dust-controlled sweeping path. Exterra’s patented DustClear system uses a dust-suppressing fog around the side brooms, where conventional sweepers kick up the most dust, says the company.
The DustClear system allows full-time side broom use so that sweeping productivity is increased by up to 71 percent over other machines without side-broom dust control, according to Advance.
The new enclosed-cab option is available with heat and/or air-conditioning to keep the operator comfortable in all environments. The cab is designed with Advance’s unique Clear-View feature that gives the operator a clear line of sight to the side broom and the front of the sweeper, without leaning over.
The Exterra combines a 50-inch wide main broom and two dust-controlled side brooms for a 77-inch total sweeping path, making the machine efficient for cleaning warehouses and manufacturing facilities, as well as indoor and outdoor parking areas. Both LP and diesel-powered models are available.
In addition to the side-broom dust control system, the machine’s main filter system features 94 square feet of nanofiber-technology filter material to capture 98-plus percent of dust particles from 0.3 to 10 microns, says the company.
Advance is a brand of Nilfisk-Advance, Inc., a leading manufacturers of high quality industrial and commercial indoor and outdoor surface cleaning equipment.
