AHI Facility Services wins ISSA green building certification

by Rebecca Walker — October 25, 2010—AHI Facility Services, a provider of commercial cleaning services, has received CIMS and CIMS-Green Building Certification with Honors from ISSA.

The certification gives AHI the ability ensure healthy, high-performance facilities, while helping them secure valuable points under the LEED-EBOM rating system, the company said.

The ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Green Building (GB) Certification has been awarded to fewer than 40 facility service providers across the country, and AHI Facility Services is the first commercial company headquartered in Texas to achieve certification for its entire scope of operations since the GB designation was introduced last October.

CIMS applies to Quality Systems, Service Delivery, Human Resources, Health, Safety & Environmental Stewardship, Management Commitment and Green Building & Service within the cleaning industry. Compliance with these standards demonstrates an organization is structured to deliver consistent, quality services designed to exceed the customer’s needs and expectations.

CIMS-GB is the highest possible CIMS certification that includes a sixth layer of sustainability requirements. These new criteria focus on the delivery of green cleaning solutions. By partnering with AHI, customers will be in a better position to secure credits under the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Green Building Rating System.
