by jbs022409 F3 — February 27, 2009—The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) has selected four recipients for its 2009 Award for Excellence. The Award for Excellence, established 11 years ago, recognizes superior educational providers for having not just one outstanding program, but an overall program with an exceptional commitment to developing and maintaining high quality education for architects.
The mission of the AIA/CES Providers program is to inspire and guide providers of continuing educational programs to deliver high-quality lifelong learning activities for architects. AIA/CES recognized the following four 2009 Award for Excellence recipients in four categories:
- Architectural Firm Provider: Marshall Craft Associates, Inc
- Commercial Organization Provider: Whirlpool Corporation
- Educational Organization Provider: Kaplan
- Internet Platform Provider: AEC Daily.
All recipients demonstrated excellence in all phases of their continuing education programs including commitment and support, planning and analysis, design and implementation, resources and records, and evaluation and improvement, says AIA. Recipients were judged and chosen by a jury of experts in the field of education and architecture. Recipients earned a five-star rating under the AIA/CES Provider Red Star Rating system.
The Award for Excellence Web site offers more information on the award, as well as podcasts from previous award recipients discussing their programs. 2009 award recipient podcasts will be posted to the Web site shortly.
