Stress Log combines up-to-date guidance from the U.K.’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) with the latest cloud and mobile Android technologies to give organizations automated insight into their mobile workers.
In particular, the application helps employers determine whether workers who report higher levels of general health symptoms, drive higher miles per year, and display higher levels of chronic fatigue may need more help in the area of stress management.

As Akeman notes, mobile and remote working is now well established in the U.K. workplace and is becoming increasingly enabled by mobile and cloud technology. Research from the USA has shown that mobile and remote working can bring unique challenges, in particular the monitoring and management of stress.
The HSE’s Management Standards for work-related stress that are incorporated into the tool define the characteristics, or culture, of an organization where the risks from work-related stress are being effectively managed and controlled. They cover work design and the primary sources of stress at work: demands, control, support, relationships, role and change, which if not properly managed can be associated with poor health and well-being, lower productivity, and increased sickness absence.
The unique Stress log tool set provides automated results into the HSE Excel Analysis tool, allowing organizations to survey their mobile workers efficiently and concentrate on the interpretation and management of stress rather than data collation. Organizations get automated anonymous results and can monitor progress towards survey completion. The reporting format complies with full HSE standards, says Akeman. Additional survey functionality can be added in the future without having to install a completely new application.
