Allianz Insurance selects MITIE for nationwide building repair

by Ann Withanee — August 17, 2011—MITIE, a strategic outsourcing and energy services company, has secured a three-year contract to provide building repair and facilities maintenance services to Allianz Insurance customers across the United Kingdom. Facilities managers waiting for repairs to be carried out after insurance claims have been submitted should find that the process has been expedited by this contract.

The FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing and energy services company will work with insurance customers seeking to outsource all, or part of, the management and delivery of domestic and commercial property insurance claims. This outsourced approach to building repair means that insurance claims can be handled efficiently and quickly, in line with customers’ policy requirements.

Ian Guest, property claims supply manager at Allianz Insurance, said, “We were impressed with MITIE’s vision of how a repair network should and indeed could operate, coupled with the wealth of building services experience and expertise the wider group brought to the table.”

MITIE has been appointed to a panel of two networks, alongside MA Assist, and will work in conjunction with a surveyor-led model provided by Imperial Consultants and BCS.

MITIE will carry out a range of facilities maintenance services for all types of facilities, including plastering and decorating, roof repairs and replacing damaged kitchens and bathrooms.
