Appalachian Lighting Systems releases new version of parking garage/canopy light series

by Shane Henson — January 11, 2012—Facilities managers seeking a better way to monitor and control the lighting systems within their buildings’ garages while saving energy in the process may benefit from Appalachian Lighting Systems, Inc.’s (ALSI) new version of a solid-state parking garage/canopy light series that features embedded ALLink wireless control and monitoring. ALSI is a developer and manufacturer of advanced LED (light-emitting diode) fixtures for large indoor and outdoor area lighting applications.

The company’s ALLED CL (Canopy Light) Series, featuring 21-, 33- and 41-watt fixtures designed to replace 70- to 175-watt HID (high-intensity discharge) lights in parking garage and canopy applications, can now be wirelessly controlled and monitored for light-level scheduling, smart metering, power-issue detection and maintenance alerts.

According to the company, the new ALLink-controlled ALLED CL LED lights provide energy savings of 80 to 90 percent when compared with the HID lights they replace and can virtually eliminate maintenance costs, significantly reducing overall operational costs for parking facility owners and operators.

Parking garage owners and operators can purchase ALLED CL lights with no upfront capital outlay and a standard 10-year bumper-to-bumper warranty through SSL Energy Solutions, ALSI’s services company partner.
