by Ann Withanee — June 3, 2011—Architectural Area Lighting (AAL), a leading provider of architectural outdoor luminaires for the commercial, municipal and institutional building markets, introduces the Parkway Square family of luminaires. This elegant family of fixtures, says AAL, is available in medium and small housings, along with a matching bollard, and it features unique design appointments, allowing the luminaires to be configured in either a contemporary or traditional styling. Parkway Square utilizes multiple energy-efficient light sources, including light emitting diodes (LED), metal halide, induction and compact fluorescent.
Parkway Square luminaire features a square body construction and is adorned on top by a decorative, yet functional square hood. The finish, hood and screen selections can be combined to produce custom pieces in either a contemporary or traditional styling.
Parkway Square is available with four distinct optical systems, including AAL’s exclusive horizontal reflector system (offers full cutoff options); LED optical system (includes MicroEmitter technology in pedestrian scale); vertical optical system (for general lighting); plus an indirect optical system (provides smooth, glare-free illumination).
Parkway Square is offered in various, energy-efficient light source options, including AAL’s exclusive MicroEmitter LED technology, metal halide, induction and the new Philips CosmoPolis lamp.
Designer friendly, Parkway Square offers numerous designer elements to customize the product and complement any design theme. Available with three hood styles—Angled, Straight and Double, and five decorative screens—Trio, Wheat, Infinity, Offset and custom designs. The hoods and screens, each with a distinct design statement, are available painted to match the fixture, as well as in stainless steel or natural copper.
Offering designer mounting options, Parkway Square can be post top mounted, wall mounted or pole mounted with a wide selection of designer arms. These arms are designed to complement the styling of Parkway Square and are available in four different configurations. AAL also offers a wide variety of custom designed poles so that Parkway Square’s elegance can be carried throughout areas of an entire project. In addition, Parkway Square’s matching bollard provides a consistent look even where low-level illumination is required.
