by Brianna Crandall — September 28, 2012—As the flu season approaches and companies and institutions look for ways to keep germs from spreading throughout their facilities, Armchem International, provider of specialty products that help businesses run smoother, faster, cleaner, safer and healthier, has introduced the Armchem InstantFOAM Deluxe Hand Sanitizer. This new medical-grade hands-free dispensing system is highly effective in killing 99.999% of most common germs, but will not dry out hands, says the company. The product is reportedly ideal for food manufacturing, foodservice, healthcare and other high-traffic environments.
While most sanitizers contain only 63% alcohol, this perfume- and dye-free product offers 70% alcohol content, making it more effective against most common bacteria, including MRSA, E. coli and influenza, says Armchem. Although the alcohol content is higher, Armchem InstantFOAM Deluxe is actually designed to leave hands softer due to a combination of proprietary emollients and lotions. Because the product is foam, it reportedly saves on costs since one application delivers nearly twice the amount as gel products of the same size, and will not leave hands feeling tacky.
According to the company, InstantFOAM Deluxe promotes health and safety in various ways. The unique patented pump and cartridge are ultrasonically sealed and designed to prevent air from getting into the cartridge, thereby minimizing the risk of external contamination. The product is formulated to improve germ-killing by 10 times compared to equivalent alcohol gels, and is four times easier to spread than gels, killing 99.999% of many common germs in just 15 seconds. It also motivates skin-care compliance since it is pleasant to use and protects against many common organisms in only 15 seconds. In addition, the dispensers feature BioCote Protection, which is guaranteed for life and is available Touch Free or color-coded with usage instructions to encourage hand washing best practices.
As to features that are friendly to the environment and the bottom line, all of the product’s cartridge components and packaging are recyclable and formulations are biodegradable. In addition, no water is required. Further, to eliminate waste and reduce costs, the cartridge collapses during normal use to ensure full product evacuation. Only one dose is required to effectively clean skin, and the product costs $92.95 for 4500 applications, which the company says is the equivalent of about 2 cents per application.
