by Brianna Crandall — September 30, 2013—ASIS International, the international organization for security professionals, has selected the 2013 winners for its ASIS Accolades Awards competition, which recognizes the security industry’s most innovative new products, services, and/or solutions. A team of judges representing end users and experts in security technologies evaluated all entries and selected the top 10 winners. The judges were reportedly impressed by advances in access systems and video surveillance technology, as well as the overall high quality of the products.
The winners were recognized at the ASIS International 59th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2013), billed as the security industry’s leading event, held September 24-27 in Chicago. More than 20,000 security, business, and government professionals from 90 countries attended the event, during which 600+ companies showcased products and services that are transforming the security industry.
The 2013 ASIS Accolades Competition: Security’s Best Award winners are:

- DAQ Electronics, LLC, for DAQ Electronics – EntroWatch access control system
- FST21 Ltd, for Digital Doorman electronic door lock
- HID Global, for the latest addition to its iCLASS SE platform
- Medeco Security Locks, an ASSA ABLOY Group Company, for Medeco M100 iClassAperio eCylinder for mechanical door hardware
- Samsung Techwin America, for 3Samsung Network Spider Cam PTZ dome camera
- Sargent Manufacturing Company and Corbin Russwin, ASSA ABLOY Group Companies, for IN120 WiFi Lock
- Securitron Magnalock Corp, an ASSA ABLOY Group Company, for Securitron R100 Surface Mounted Wireless Reader for access control to glass entryways
- SRI International Sarnoff, for IOM PassThru Drive-up Biometric System, offering iris and face authentication for vehicle entry points
- Thermal Imaging Radar, LLC, for Thermal Radar, a continuously rotating LWIR camera that provides intelligent, high-definition thermal surveillance
