by Brianna Crandall — April 13, 2012—Aventura Technologies Inc., provider of advanced video management technology, just unveiled what it claims is the “world’s first” patent-pending single-server total situational awareness solution, called “Command Center In-a-Box,” at the ISC West Conference in Las Vegas. The product provides a host of security, inaugural communications and notification functionality integrated on a common operating platform unified into a single device, which displays the information via an enterprise-wide videowall solution.
The comprehensive product unifies Aventura’s best-of-breed DVR (digital video recorder), NVR (network video recorder), CMS (open-source content management systems), PSIM (physical security information management software), Analytics, Intrusion and Mass Notification software and more using a series of powerful large-scale, high-density “smart” processors, which manage all sub-systems.
Command Center In-a-Box possesses native universal support for both IP (Internet protocol) and analog devices from a variety of manufacturers. Video input and output support reportedly runs the gamut accommodating HD (high definition), DVI (digital visual interface), RGB/VGA (red-green-blue/video graphics array connector), SDI (serial digital interface format), Component, S-Video (Super Video transmission) and Composite in full true-color 24-bit image quality.
According to Aventura, razor-sharp real-time hardware decoded video is displayed in high definition leveraging the onboard 64 Gbit/sec duplex data transfer rate. The graphic processors feature multi-resolution, multi-codec, multi-transport support allowing synchronization and display of disparate devices in a variety of formats.
The single server solution may be accessed, shared and controlled by network devices with proper permission. As security is a priority, Command Center In-a-Box meets FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) encryption standards and has network isolation capabilities. Real-time event logging provides a clear and concise audit trail history.
Command Center In-a-Box is designed to provide the ultimate in visualization and collaboration via an easy-to-use graphical user interface with centralized management via Active Directory.
Jack Cabasso, Managing Director of Sales of Aventura Technologies, said the new product meets the common challenge of integrating and managing disparate systems that lack common standards, often resulting in confusing implementation and extended hours for simple additions or updates. “While we are a big proponent of open standards and interoperability, our philosophical view continues to be: single platform, minimize devices and points of failure, single solution provider and one point of contact. The result is reduced cost of ownership, less management and high availability; it is the perfect solution.”
