by Ann Withanee — May 30, 2011—Years of research and design are coming to fruition in June, when Kimball Office unveils dozens of new product additions to its popular casegood line, Priority. The manufacturer’s design team spent years traveling the world and evaluating what workers need and use to work efficiently and effectively. Benching and worktables, height-adjustable tables, storage elements, and accessories will be introduced the week of June 12, in the Kimball Office Chicago, and be available in the fall.
“Priority’s enhancements allow designers and facility managers to use a single desking solution for benching, open planning, and private offices; everything from the reception station to the C-suite,” said Allen Parker, Vice President of Marketing, Products, and Sales for Kimball Office. “Kimball Office’s research found that in order for groups to be successful in today’s economy, they must have options to adjust a table’s height, easy access to storage, and the ability to modify the unit based upon the needs of the group. Priority provides these choices.”
Priority’s new benching and worktable solutions offer a stanchion, which supports optional overhead storage, creates visual privacy, and offers options for acoustical tackable or slat tiles. Corner units of 90- and 120-degrees enable companies to organize the tables similar to a panel system, allowing the user more visual privacy. Returns and bridges can be added for increased flexibility, and privacy screens and modesty panels can be attached or removed without defacing work surfaces. Moveable privacy screens are also available.
The new height-adjustable tables include several choices for adjustments, including mechanical, incremental pin adjust, click (operates like a ratchet), and crank handle. Both electrical single stage and dual stage sit-to-stand include an optional programmable memory with up to four settings.
Priority’s existing solutions include a wide range of desks, credenzas, tables, vertical and overhead storage, worksurface styles, and integrated technology options. The complete line is available in a variety of wood and laminate options as well as four finishes for legs and three finishes for screens and privacy panels.
All Priority wood components are finished with Pura, Kimball Office’s proprietary UV finish. The line is Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Indoor Advantage Gold certified, may contribute to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits, and is Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA) level(R) 3 certified.
