by Shane Henson — May 25, 2012—Bendheim, a vertically integrated supplier of fine architectural glass and specialty glass, has launched a new Wood + Glass collection of decorative architectural glasses.

Products in its newest offering combine the enduring luxurious appeal of natural woods with the durability of maintenance-friendly glass. Wood veneers encapsulated in glass offer a highly maintenance-friendly alternative to traditional wood finishes in high-traffic healthcare, hospitality, retail, office, and residential areas, says Bendheim. Unlike exposed wood, glass easily withstands daily cleaning and sanitizing with a variety of commercial cleaners.

Bendheim’s Wood + Glass collection contains six authentic woods—cork, teak, zebra wood, mahogany, wenge and walnut—the latter featuring a highly sought-after cathedral cut. The veneers are laminated between ultra-clear, low-iron glass, adding depth and subtle brilliance to the wood grain.

These glasses are particularly effective as decorative wall cladding for feature walls and backsplashes, says Bendheim. They can also be installed as partitions or screens, and used as paneling for reception desks, decorative accents, and table tops. The products’ impervious, durable surface is a benefit in high-traffic spaces such as lobbies, reception areas, and elevators.

Bendheim’s Wood + Glass collection glasses are available in sizes up to 48″ by 96″.
