property and facility management (FM) workforce development, is excited to launch three new course updates. Each coursebook now concludes with actionable steps, helping you implement what you’ve learned. These courses are part of the property and facilities management designations offered by BOMI.
“Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and BOMI’s Learning and Development team have been working together to bring the commercial real estate industry best-in-class education,” said Tim O’Donald, RPA, chairman of the Board at BOMI and president of Harbor East Management Group, LLC.
“We are proud of the work that goes into updating our courses,” says Andrea Yepsen, vice president of Learning and Development at BOMI. “In addition to the digital and print coursebook updates, we’ve introduced new microlessons, practice quizzes, knowledge checks, interactive infographics, and instructor resources for each course,” she added.
The Budgeting and Accounting course updates reflect the latest industry practices and standards. Innovative microlessons that focus on practical applications provide real-world insights and strategies you can implement immediately. You’ll learn the skills to effectively analyze financial statements, manage and address budget variations, and how to attract and retain high-quality tenants using tenant profiles. In Law and Risk Management, BOMI reorganized the chapters to transition from topic to topic more clearly. The new application-based microlessons provide a guided tutorial for the correct process of creating a deed and the legal aspects of enforcing it, tools and strategies to ensure your lease agreements are fully compliant — minimizing risks and maximizing returns, and an understanding of how to manage insurance coverage strategically, ensuring optimal protection while avoiding over-insurance pitfalls. Real Estate Investment and Finance combines the latest industry practices with practical applications, including spreadsheet examples that showcase current calculation methods and provide multiple resources to address your investment and finance needs. New microlessons offer insights into the “Rule of 72,” owner objectives including calculations and analysis, and maximizing the success of real estate contracts through contract type selection, negotiation, terms, and conditions.
