July 20, 2007—BonaKemi USA, the North American subsidiary of BonaKemi AB in Sweden, provider of hardwood floor finishing and floor care, has added Bona Naturale to its product line after several years of research and testing. Claiming to be unique to the market, Bona Naturale is a premium, two-component waterborne wood floor finish that offers an untreated look while maintaining the natural feeling underfoot of the wood. It is formulated for the extreme demands of commercial and heavy-traffic residential hardwood floors, and features the same high durability and scratch resistance as in Bona Traffic.

“We have seen a rising trend toward more matte finishes,” said Chad Nordhagen, product manager for BonaKemi. “Not only does Bona Naturale preserve the true nature of any wood floor, it does so with an extremely low-gloss, matte look that is becoming more and more prevalent in high-end homes and commercial settings.”

The clarity and low-sheen level of Bona Naturale mean spot repairs and recoating of heavy traffic areas, such as retail cash register checkout areas, are virtually undetectable, says BonaKemi. Bona Naturale’s non-reflective surface allows the repair of a single board or refinishing of a large section to blend in seamlessly with the rest of the floor. The product is also UL classified for slip resistance.

Bona Naturale, along with the other finishes in Bona’s Environmental Choice System, is developed with concern for the environment and personal health, says the company. The product claims a low VOC content (210 g/L), fast dry time (two-three hours), and curing time (90% in 72 hours) and has no harmful fumes, so customers do not have to vacate the premises during refinishing.

Several introductory promotions are being offered for contractors and their customers. For more information visit BonaKemi’s Bona Naturale Web page.
