by Shane Henson — January 7, 2013—Bosch Security Systems, a global supplier of equipment for the electronic protection and communications systems industries, has added two high-performance light-emitting diode (LED) monitors and three compact outdoor dome cameras to its popular Advantage Line of video products. Products within the Advantage Line are geared toward small-to-medium-sized applications such as schools, banks, and small office buildings, says Bosch.
The new LED monitors offer high-definition resolution up to 1080p and precise color reproduction, says Bosch. They are ideal for use with analog video, digital recorders and with Internet-protocol (IP) applications. The monitors offer a wide range of horizontal and vertical angles for comfortable, clear viewing—whether placed on a desktop or mounted to a wall or ceiling. The UML-193-90 is a 19-inch monitor, and the UML-223-90 is a 22-inch monitor.
The company’s newest dome cameras are the VDC-242, VDN-244, and VDI-244. The VDC-242 is an electronic day/night camera that is ideal for applications where there are drastic lighting changes. The VDN-244 is a true day/night camera that automatically switches from color to monochrome in low light. It is suited for storefronts, restaurants and office buildings with large windows and direct sunlight. The VDI-244 true day/night infrared (IR) dome has 18 integrated IR LEDs that provide 65 feet (20 meters) of night vision. It is a fit for areas with variable lighting or where the camera is pointed into direct sunlight, Bosch says.
According to Bosch, the new cameras feature a 960H sensor to deliver 650 TVL resolution—the highest image quality available for analog devices. The cameras are also easy to install and can be adjusted around three axes. Each dome features a weather-proof rating of IP 66 and a vandal-resistant metal housing with an IK8 impact rating. Optional heaters ensure reliable video surveillance even in arctic applications.
