by Rebecca Walker — February 5, 2010—Bosch Security Systems is introducing a video recorder specifically for small shops, retail stores and pharmacies that are often without professional CCTV systems due to the high installation cost.
The Video Recorder 400 Series is a complete and easy-to-use video management solution that operates “straight from the box,” says the company. Intuitive menus and setup wizards mean no training is required for operation and management. Simply connect the cameras and power, enter local time and language, and the unit begins recording automatically.
The Video Recorder 400 Series can be operated off-site thanks to the recorder’s built-in Web viewer, which allows for remote viewing, playback, control and configuration. In the event of an alarm, the system’s video manager sends an alert instantly by automatic email, says Bosch.
The 400 Series takes advantage of the latest H.264 compression technology that greatly reduces the amount of bandwidth and storage needed, enabling it to store for at least 30 days. Its dual streaming capability supports multiple video and audio signals while simultaneously providing live multi-screen viewing and playback.
Search and playback functions including a “Smart Search” to help locate recorded events quickly by looking for changes in selected areas.
