BSA: Cleaning companies commit to employee development, recognition

by Brianna Crandall — February 18, 2015—U.K.-based policy and research organization the Business Services Association (BSA) just published the Responsible Cleaner Scheme (RCS), wherein companies working in the contract cleaning sector have come together to protect and promote the welfare and development of their employees; to make sure their experience and capabilities are recognized and developed; and to promote the professionalization of the industry itself.

To help achieve these goals, RCS members have signed up to a series of commitments focused on valuing, recognizing and rewarding the hard work and dedication of RCS members’ employees.

Sixteen cleaning companies have signed up for the RCS, representing over 130,000 employees, which BSA says demonstrates the companies are taking best practices and professional development seriously.
