BSJ presents 2008 sustainable building services awards

by jbs112408 e3 — December 1, 2008—The second annual Sustainable Building Services Awards were recently presented by the Building Services Journal (BSJ), the official journal of the UK’s Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), and Electrical and Mechanical Contractor magazine. The awards recognize “the very best in sustainable construction,” rewarding companies that have effectively incorporated sustainability into their own or their client’s business.

The Sustainable Building Services Awards 2008 winners are:

  • Sustainable Designer or Consultancy of the Year: BDP
  • Sustainable M&E Contractor of the Year: NG Bailey
  • Innovation from a contractor or a consultant: Arup – Trussfloor
  • Green Product of the Year: Megaman—Clusterlite
  • Most Sustainable Refurbishment: Fujitsu North London Data Centre by Red Engineering
  • International Scheme of the Year: Yale Sculpture School, New Haven, Connecticut put forward by Atelier Ten
  • Sustainable Building/Development of the Year: Fitzpatrick Contractors—The Fitzpatrick Head Office, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire
  • Major Sustainable Building/Development of the Year: Mott MacDonald—Vulcan House, Sheffield
  • Sustainability Champion of the Year: David Clark from Cundall
