BSRIA, Canadian government partner to develop smart building work plan

by Brianna Crandall — December 29, 2010—BSRIA Ltd, owned by the U.K.’s BSRIA, a not-for-profit distributing organization that represents industry for the built environment, has entered into a special advisory agreement with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to help the Canadian government develop a Smart Building Work Plan.

“The sheer range of our expertise, gained from over 50 years of experience and research, means we are able to meet the technical and information needs of all involved in building services and construction, from consulting engineers, contractors, manufacturers and building operators to government bodies and utilities,” said Nigel Anderson, head of design and FM innovation at BSRIA.

BSRIA plans to engage manufacturers, installers, solutions providers, utilities and regulatory energy bodies to develop and execute country-wide energy efficiency initiatives that would pilot numerous technologies within federal buildings.
